Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Date Published 26 September 2022

The world mourned the loss of Britain's longest serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. In the words of President Macron of France, ‘To you, she was your Queen. To us, she was The Queen'.

On Monday 19th September, the State Funeral drew a peak of 27 million viewers in the UK. It was a flawless event with the military playing a leading role. It was the most rehearsed and well thought about event in any of our lifetimes, probably of any event hosted in Britain. It was beautiful, with everything from the flowers, music, choirs and pipe bands proving a moving tribute to her majesty.

The death of Britain's longest reigning monarch marks an end of a 70 year Elizabethan era and the Queens eldest child has succeeded her. The name of the new era has been confirmed as the Carolean era, which is the same name that was given to the era's of both King Charles I and II. The name Carolean is very logical, as Carolean originates from Carolus, the Latin word for Charles.

Whilst the nation has mourned the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, the crown moves on to the new monarch and head of state, King Charles III.
